For the academic year 2023–2024, the University of Calgary will fully finance all overseas students. Any undergraduate degree program starting in the first year is open to international students who are eligible for a $20,000 (renewable annually) scholarship.

UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

The following requirements must be met in order for candidates to be considered for the University of Calgary Scholarship:
  • English is necessary. 
  • All nations on earth are eligible. 

Scholarship for International Entry Energizing Canada:

  • Awarded yearly to an international student at the University of Calgary who is beginning their first year of an undergraduate degree program. If awardees achieve a minimum GPA of 3.00 across a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms, the awards are renewable in the second, third, and fourth years of study at the University of Calgary. 
  • academic prowess

  • must have completed high school in China, including Macau and Hong Kong. 
  • A candidate for a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences, or Bachelor of Arts - Urban Studies degree will be given preference.

Scholarship for International Admission to the University of Calgary: 

  • annually available to international undergraduate students who meet the university's English language proficiency requirement and are beginning their first year of any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall semester. If recipients maintain a GPA of 2.60 or higher over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student, the award will be renewable in the second, third, and fourth years of study at the University of Calgary.
  • academic standing for international students who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada but must pay a differential fee.

How to submit a scholarship application 
The actions listed below should be followed in order to apply for this scholarship:

  1. Apply to the undergraduate program at your university: 

  • Now that you can start your application. First, create a UCalgary eID. 
  • You can complete your application with the help of the application instructions. 
  • Send in your application and the $145 application fee. 
  • Depending on your application, we'll let you know in your Calgary Student Center how and where to submit any supporting documents. The papers page contains more information.
2. App for the Scholarship and then follow these steps: 
  • Use the myUofC portal to find your Student Center. 
  • Go to your Student Center's "My Financials" page by clicking on it. 
  • Click "Apply for Undergraduate Awards" under Awards & Scholarships after swiping down to that section. Ensure that pop-ups are turned on. If pop-ups are disabled, the page won't load. 
  • Your screen will display a pop-up window that lists any open or recently closed applications. Please remember the dates for when applications are available and when they must be submitted.
