Chevening Scholarship applications for the UK open on August 2

Chevening Scholarship applications for the UK open on August 2

Between August 2 and November 1, 2022, Chevening Scholarship applications for study in the UK are accepted online at chevening.org/apply.

This information was provided in a statement released on Monday by the British High Commission in Abuja, which emphasized that Chevening Scholarships are given to people from all backgrounds who can show they have the drive and aptitude necessary to bring about positive change and can explain how earning a master's degree in the UK will enable them to do so.

The fellowship provides full financial assistance for scholars to pursue any suitable master's degree at any UK university while also giving them access to a variety of privileged academic, professional, and cultural experiences.

Over 50,000 professionals have had the chance to advance in the UK since the program's inception in 1983 thanks to Chevening. For the academic year 2023–2024, there are more than 1,500 scholarships available worldwide, highlighting the UK's continuous dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders.

International cooperation is more crucial than ever as the globe continues to address important global concerns like climate change, according to Naomi Rayner, head of Scholarships at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Chevening aims to create a global network of people who are dedicated to cooperating to bring about positive change. We achieve this by bringing together amazing individuals from all around the world and assisting them in realizing their objectives via education.

"In the UK, we are proud of our world-class universities and we understand that the wide diversity of cultures, experiences, and viewpoints represented on our campuses enriches our learning environments. Chevening scholars not only become an integral part of our network of over 50,000 alumni, but also significantly contribute to these communities.

"Chevening exemplifies the finest of the UK, encouraging visitors from all over the world to pursue education, develop, and prosper. A tremendous sense of pride and obligation is instilled by being a member of the Chevening network.

"The dedication and passion of the Chevening community never ceases to inspire me, and I eagerly await hearing from this year's applicants."

Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, also commented on the development, saying that a Chevening scholarship "could be the ideal opportunity for you if you are someone who is passionate about driving change, whether on a local or global scale, if you want to be the best at what you do and if you have the imagination to inspire others."

Dynamic influences that have had the same experience as you do can be found in our alumni network. They may provide support, guidance, contacts, and mentoring.

"After finishing your courses, you ought to feel prepared to start contributing significantly to society or the workplace. If you have what it takes to be a Chevening Scholar, I would urge you to apply before the deadline of November 1 because doing so will give you a lot to gain.

Following the selection of 40 Nigerian scholars who were awarded scholarships to attend a UK institution this year, the call for new candidates has been made.

Successful applicants have been sharing their stories through the Chosen For Chevening hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.
