External Bursaries for South African Students from the City of Cape Town

 South African students who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for the City of Cape Town External Bursaries 2023, which will help pay for their formal education's registration, exams, and class fees.

The scholarship seeks to give aspiring students the resources they need to continue their education in the sector of their choice. Each year, a group of motivated and ambitious students is chosen who they believe will take advantage of the opportunity, approach their academic and professional goals with great zeal, and put in the deliberate effort needed to achieve their goals. Additionally, the bursaries include capped allowances for meals, transportation, and study aid. Depending on available funding, the City may additionally provide a capped dwelling allowance in some circumstances where a need has been established

Eligibility Requirements 

The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for the City of Cape Town External Bursaries 2022–2023

The applicant must be a citizen of South Africa and be a resident of Cape Town.

Candidates must have final or mid-year Grade 12 results with an average of 65% or higher.

A copy of the applicant's first, second, or third year academic transcripts is required.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a recognized tertiary institution and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the fields of study designated by the City of Cape Town as having a shortage of skilled workers.

Accounting (CA and Cost Management), Artisan Training, Auditing, Contract Management, Data Science/Analytics (Statistics, Computer Science), Economics, Engineering (various fields, including Industrial Engineering), Environmental (Specialists, including Air Pollution and Water Quality), Fleet Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Heritage, Information Systems, and Technology are among the fields that qualify

Legal (a wide range of fields), Nursing, Occupational Health & Safety, Project Management, Renewable Energy, Supply Chain Management, Technical Training/qualification in, Electricity/Energy/Refrigeration/Electronic/Process control and Operations, Transport Management, Urban Design, Landscape, Planning, Surveying and Architecture, Municipal Finance Management Act Minimum Competence qualification, Public Accountability, and Innovation.

How to Apply: Interested candidates must submit an online application before the application deadline for the City External Bursaries 2022–2023 along with all necessary supporting documentation.
